Water Slides!!! Gold Medals! Murders!

and other things that made my insides super warm and fuzzy yesterday

Water Slides!!! Gold Medals! Murders!

A few weeks ago, Brandon showed me this TikTok of a single adult male just vibing by himself on a random Wednesday morning at an indoor water park in Round Rock, TX.

@nickgraynewsBest $50 I ever spent. I got an empty waterpark all to myself. Do this with your friends #austintx #kalahariresorts #waterpark #waterslides

We both thought it was a great idea.

SO THAT’S WHAT THE FUCK WE DID YESTERDAYYYY 🤘 🏊‍♀️🩱🤿

Here’s my choice of swimsuit.

Grabbed the most high coverage top and bottom I own so there wouldn’t be any boobs or booty cheeks falling out while riding the water slides.

Here’s B and I enjoying 2000’s emo tunes during the 40 minute drive. Very exciting!

Here’s the view walking up to the huge ass resort.

We didn’t realize how many other things were going on in that place but IT. HAD. EVERYTHING.

Hotel, restaurants, spa, convention center, arcade, zip lining, small theme park rides, escape games….SO MANY THINGS!

I made B stand in this frame like the stage mom I think am in a different timeline.

Once we made it inside, we did a quick lap and I snapped a quick pic of what I thought was the biggest corner of it.

Little did I know THAT WAS ONLY THE INSIDE PART!

The slides actually go outside mid-ride and come back inside to shoot you back into the pools below.

And in that pic you can only see 3 of the 15 to 20 big slides throughout the whole park.

It was wild.

Here’s the last pic we took at the locker room where my phone stayed for the next 2 hours while we were screaming our heads off inside giant tubes.

It was an absolute blast.

We didn’t have to wait more than 2 minutes for any single slide.

I highly recommend 11am mid-week if this is something you want to do.

But honestly I was still so surprised how many school-aged kids there were, too!

Not sure if I’m just out of touch with the times? Or maybe the pandemic just really made homeschooling that much more popular?

Either way it was cool.

Mostly parents with their toddlers in kiddie pools.

I think we were the only childless couple there.

All in all, a great first half of the day…10/10 would do again.

(And honestly, Kalahari should sponsor me with this banger of a post, right?!?!)

Anyway, finished it off with some delicious lunch at one of the resort restaurants and headed back home.

A wonderful day that only got better...

... BECAUSE THE USA WOMENS GYMNASTICS TEAM WON THE DAMN WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP FOR THE 7th TIME IN A ROW!!!

I rewinded (rewound?) that shit on Peacock as soon as I got back home and ugly cried watching Simone’s last routine.

Here’s a phenomenal summary of how impactful her return to the sport has been for so many kids, adults, survivors, and fans like me.

Throughout the next week, her and a few of the other girls will be fighting for individual all-around and event medals as well.

So much to look forward to 🙂

Then I finally sat at my computer and worked for a couple hours on 3DMJ stuff.

Today we released a podcast where I interviewed my colleagues about a bunch of audience-supplied bodybuilding questions.

Here’s the YouTube version.

And of course you can find the show on Spotify or Apple Podcasts as well.

For dinner, we cooked some beef for homemade nachos and watched the last episode of Only Murders In The Building!

OH MY GOD IT WAS SOOOOO GOOD.

I mean, I knew it would be.

The last 2 seasons were.

And there’s nothing Steve Martin has ever done that I didn’t love.

This was truthfully one of my favorite days in life recently.

I think it’s important to take note when that happens.

I’m grateful I have this little platform to do that for myself.

I hope you have a way to document your happy spots as well. Even if it’s private.

Thanks so much for reading, and I’ll talk to ya in a couple days :)

xoxo,
